North American Auctions

Tuesday, May 14, 2008
Demand for premium quality mink remained high at the American Legend May sale as over 220 International buyers in attendance competed aggressively for the last Blackglama® and American Legend® collection of the season. The offering, consisting of fine quality seasonal goods, also included the normal end of season collection of smaller sizes, Breeders and Section III mink.  Blackglama males sold 100% at averages that were firm to the levels established during the American Legend February auction. Buying was led by Greece and Hong Kong/China. Mahogany males and Ranch Wild males and females also sold in line with averages firm to February. Blue Iris males and females advanced 5%, while the balance of the mutation collection sold in line with February levels. Breeder mink and Section III skins led off the sale on Tuesday and sold at very strong levels in comparison to regular qualities. Buying was widespread throughout the auction with Hong Kong/China, Greece, Russia, and Korea all active.

Sales Reults March 2008
NAFA concluded today the most successful auction sale in the company’s history. A record attendance of 500 buyers, record high prices on many of the articles sold and a record sales turnover for a single NAFA auction were all achieved this week. NAFA management and staff extend sincere thanks to all of our buyers and consignors who have so strongly supported our sale over the past seven days.  The Black females offered today sold 100% at prices fully firm to the most recent auction in North America. China was the main buyer in the commercial qualities, while Korea dominated the better qualities, with support from Russia and China. The Mahogany females also sold 100% at firm prices, mainly to China and Korea.  NAFA concluded its three day Wild Fur sale with an incredible sale of Fisher, Raccoon, Lynx and Lynx Cat.  The day began with the sale of Fisher, which sold 100% at significantly advancing levels.  Main buyers were China, Turkey and Greece, with support from Russia, Europe, North America and Korea.  The sale of Raccoon was outstanding, with better colours for all sections advancing sharply to record levels. Significant price differences were paid for good colours compared to off colours.  China, Turkey and Greece were the main buyers with support from the traditional markets and Russia.  A fine collection of Lynx received premiums throughout. Both Alaskan and NWT skins saw significant advances. Buying was dominated by China and Greece with excellent support from Turkey.  Lynx Cats sold under fierce competition from Greece, Turkey, Italy and Ukraine, creating new highs for this important article. Record prices were paid for all heavier types with clear bellies.
