One of the most impressive mink sales in history concluded today with price increases for Black NAFA females rising over 10% from the most recent sale. Korea also led the buying in the Mahoganies with strong support from Italy, Hong Kong/China.  The Demi/Wild female collection continued on the same upward trend.  Blue Iris prices advanced 10%.  Active bidding dominated day two of NAFA’s May auction, driving up prices to recent record highs. Friday, May 20, 2010

The opening day of American Legend’s May 2011 auction saw advancing prices based on strong buying support from all major markets. The Blackglama® male collection sold 100% at levels that were 6-10% above American Legend®’s March 2011 sale, as increasing prices were once again prevalent on higher-quality goods.  Buying on the Blackglama males was led by Greece, with strong support from Hong Kong/China.

The American Legend Mahogany collection also saw advances, with some goods increasing 10-15% over March levels thanks to heavy buying from Hong Kong/China and widespread support from all markets. Continuing with the trend of advancing prices, the Demi/Wild collection also sold at advancing levels with Hong Kong/China leading the way.

To conclude the excellent results of the day, Breeder males sold at very high prices relative to regular winter-type skins.

Over one thousand people gathered in Toronto at the NAFA building over the last three days, for what was probably the greatest auction in North American history. NAFAʼs superior collections of Black, Mahogany, and Demi/Wild females attracted exceptionally high prices on day three of the mink sale. All quantities sold 100%.  The February 2011 NAFA auction will go down in history as one of the busiest, the best and one of the most memorable. Buyers were abundant, the bidding was energetic and mink prices were high. Over 470 buyers, several hundred ranchers and their families along with NAFA staff came together for a dynamic week of auctioneering.
